Nuel Always Cho, a distinguished music industry executive and consultant, has held pivotal roles at Sony, Universal, and Warner Music Groups, playing a significant part in the connection and growth of the Music Business and YouTube. Born in Tampa Bay, Florida, and raised in Seoul, South Korea, he attended Seoul Foreign School. Nuel began his journey in America in 2001, earning his degree from New York University. He then embarked on his music industry career as an intern for the renowned Hip-Hop duo Gang Starr. Merging a tradition of artistic brilliance with extraordinary business insight, Nuel continually transforms the music landscape through his visionary leadership. He currently serves as the Chief Creative Officer of MuzLive, a company that revolutionizes music albums, fusing physical product & digital technology. He will offer his perspectives on the changes in the global music industry, especially regarding K-Pop, and will also be available for career consultations with students.
Andrew Choi
Singer-Songwriter, Topliner
Andrew Choi, a Korean-American singer-songwriter, ranks among the most coveted pop/R&B topliners in the K-pop and J-pop arenas. Launching his songwriting career in Korea in 2011, he quickly garnered attention from numerous A&R executives at Asian labels, thanks to his exceptional toplining skills. He has collaborated with an array of superstar artists, including EXO, 2PM, TVXQ, Exile, and many others. Further establishing his multifaceted talent, Andrew secured a spot in the top three on the major TV audition show "K-Pop Star 2" in 2012, solidifying his reputation not just as a songwriter, but as an artist in his own right. Andrew will share his insights into the toplining process and the production secrets of K-Pop that he has learned over the course of his career.
Michael McCall
Assistant Professor at Berklee, Producer
Michael McCall is a Producer/Songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts. He is one-half of the Grammy-nominated and Billboard-charting songwriting & production duo Boston & Pat. Michael is signed to Warner Chappell and co-published by the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum production duo Rice n Peas (known for "Exo-Love Shot" and "Fine-Taeyon"). His production credits span over 80+ major label releases, including artists like Lil Tjay, Bazzi, Quinn XCII, Jay Sean, Kiana Ledé, Lucky Daye, Yung Gravy, Queen Naija, Tinashe, and Lennon Stella. Additional credits include Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, Offset, 6lack, BIA, and 24k Goldn. After signing with Rice n' Peas, who have achieved remarkable success in the K-pop world with a string of hits, Michael embarked on a songwriting trip to Seoul, South Korea, hosted by SM and MZMC. There, he produced and wrote songs that eventually earned him his first K-Pop credits, including CIX's "Bystander" and "Maybe I." His recent K-Pop cuts include MINHO (from SHINee) with "Choice" and an English record with NCT 127. Currently, he is working in the studio with Mike Woods and Lay Zhang in Los Angeles.

"Foreign Lands" is a New York-based crew of Korean American artists hailing from Queens, Nashville, and Boston. They first showcased their talent in New York last July, and have since performed in Boston, MIT, and South Korea this year. Their mission is to elevate and celebrate Asian creatives on the East Coast, sharing their art with the surrounding communities.

K-Pop Deconstructed: A Production & Songwriting Masterclass
Assistant Professor of Songwriting Michael McCall will conduct a K-Pop production & songwriting workshop, during which he will share works and significant insights gleaned from his extensive experience in the K-Pop industry. He will break down the process of going from the initial brief, to demo, to official K-pop release. Breakdowns will include "Fine" by Taeyeon, "Maybe I" & "Bystander" by CIX, "Choice" by MINHO (from SHINee), and other demos for groups such as Red Velvet & Nct 127.
